General FAQ

Q:    The soft sampler formats included are: Kontakt, HALion, EXS24 and NN-XT. Do I need one of those software samplers to use theloopbox.com products?

A:     No. Inside the box is a folder named "Sample Content". This folder contains all the individual samples/loops as 24 bit .wav files, which can be opened/imported by any audio-software. Audio+MIDI sequencers like Sonar, Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools LE, Digital Performer, Tracktion, GarageBand etc. will do perfectly well.

For a detailed description on Arranging Raw Audio Files, please see the Tips & Tricks section.

In addition there is a wide selection of soft samplers that are capable of importing at least one of our supported formats. For a more detailed overview, please check out our Compatibility Chart. [Menu]

Q:    How often do you add new products?

A:
We aim to upload once a week. And if you subscribe to the free newsletter you will get free loops and samples every week. [Menu]

Q:    I want to buy several products at once in order to benfit from the pricing structure. However, I am a little concerned about the size of the download?

A:
We are aware that costumers buying, say 25 or more, products build up substantial downloads. That´s why we always deliver an individual download link for each product you buy. These links will be valid for 30 days, which should give you time to get everything downloaded "bit by bit" if you don´t have a fast connection to the internet.  [Menu]

Q:    "2Checkout.com is an authorized retailer for theloopbox.com"?

A:    This means that 2Checkout.com actually buys our products with the purpose of immediate resale to the end customer. This doesn´t mean that we forget about the customers in any way. You can always rely on us for support regarding our products, of course. Please read more About Payment, or the Payment FAQ [Menu]

Q:    Why does a single loop pack cost $1.99 when you can sell it for just $0.50?

A:    We pay a 5.5% fee plus a fixed $0.45 fee for every transaction. If the amount is small, say $0.50, the fixed fee alone will be eating most of the sale. That´s why we lower the prices considerably on larger quantities.

Q:    Why are there both a PC and a Mac verison of the HALion program files?

A:    HALion programs created on a Mac will not always open correctly on a PC, and vice versa. To make absolutely sure that all users can load the included program files without any problems, we decided to make files for both Mac and PC. [Menu]

Q:    You support Reason, so why isn´t there a Refill?

A:
We provide program files for the NN-XT because all the soft samplers can share the same "Sample Content" folder this way. Also, a Refill compresses the audio files, and even though it is almost inaudible we want to keep the samples and loops in full 24 bit quality.

"Refill Packer" is a free download at Propellerhead, so it is easy to make your own Refills if that´s what you prefer. [Menu]

Q:    Why is there a ".DS_Store" file in every folder?

A:
These are files created by Mac OS X, and are invisible if you open the folder on the Mac OS X platform. However they are visible in Windows, but they are absolutely harmless, and you should just ignore them.

What they hold is a bit of information about how the folder will open (in OS X): Size, placement and so on. If you want to delete these files it is safe to do so. [Menu]
