Fade In/Out

This example is also taken from the "Moodswing, Part 2" LoopBox, and the screenshot shows the first half of the one used for "The Double Loop".

However, we want to draw the attention to something else.

As you can see the notes in the bottom row, triggering the drum loops, are changing colours during the first four bars. This is because the velocity value is rising for each bar. The velocity value is actually determining the volume for the loops being triggered.

The result is a gentle rise in volume, or in other words: A "Fade In".

If you have the possibility, it is often a better solution to make such a fade in using the automation feature of your sequencer, but it can also be done this way. The opposite is possible too, of course. Letting the velocity value drop gently will result in a "Fade Out".
